Which wire positive on IC pump?

I'm fixing to install the new Jabsco IC pump and noticed there is a positive flag on the black wire on the new one.I'm going to splice the connector from old pump and was wondering if the positive wire on the old one is the black one also. It's getting dark fast and wanted some advice before pressing on. Forgive me as I'm dumb on electrical probs.

I believe you just match the wires colors and splice away.

Did just that and now have water flow. Got too late to make a Datamaster run, but might get one in tomorrow and try to get this puppy running like it should.
