Wheel Bearings?

Can anyone give any info on them? Like say do they make a noise before going out? Are they self contained or can I pack them? Can I find them on any other vehicle? How much at the dealer? And last can I do the replacing or packing or whatever myself?

It's a hub & bearing assembly.
You won't be able to clean & pack, just spend and replace.

My memory is pretty poor, but I think the bearing/hub assy. was in the $150 range.
Try NAPA.

You should be able to do it yourself. You just need a big socket & a long 2' breaker bar to get the axle nut off. Also might need a pickle fork/ball joint separator. It's been awhile since I had mine apart.

The Timken replacements are $110 at AutoZone. They look pretty solid - the only bad thing is that each AutoZone only stocks one at a time so you have to go to two different stores or order the 2nd one in.

The bearings get sloppy when worn - it should be obvious if it needs replacement.

I'm talkin' about the fronts - yes there will be some play. Not sure how the rears are done.

Rear bearings are replacable but its kinda uncommon for them to fail. They arent packed with grease as the rear diff lube keeps em lubed (as long as the fluid level isnt allowed to get low).

Less than 1/8" there about would prolly be considered ok IMO.

So, the rears get lubed w rear oil - how about the fronts ? I don't think the front diff oil can get over there. Do U pack them w grease ? Do they adjust like 2WD whl bearings ? Tighten until drag, then back off ?

I need to get 2 of them for front and tried to find them but it was sooo expensive here in Japan.
So could someone tell me what's the p/n and where can I order those from Japan??? summit? jegs?

You could try www.autozone.com but I'm not sure they will ship to overseas addresses(never had reason to check).
