Whats a good shift kit

I figure its the next thing on my list so I figured while I did my research I should also find out what everyone else is running and how they like it. I am probably going to go with an aftermarket shifter also, probably something B&M. So what shift kit and shifter do you think I should run in my stock truck with some bolt ons?

any shift kit is a step backwards for our transmission. if it's not shifting hard then you have a problem. make sure the tv cable is set correctly and go from there.

OK, then let me ask this. After being at the track a couple of times now, I am beginning to figure a couple things out. My ty seems to be really good the first 8th of the mile and then seems to die out the second half. Now I know that its kinda what our trucks do, but I still think mine does it a little bit less than its supposed to. And I am soo sick of not breaking into tripple digits for speed, I'm stuck at 99mph. Mabe I just need to go back to the tranny shop and kick somebody in the nuts. Its just that some of the GN guys sugested a shift kit.

If you running mid 13's at 99 mph, that would be normal (maybe even slight better than average) Its just the way the truck is, areodynmics, awd and small turbo. For what its worth, my truck feel noticably quicker with its 103+ traps vs when it was 98-99mph.

Do you have a manual lock up switch for your transmission? Most folks drop .2 to .5 of a second in their ET's with one. If you are going throught the traps at 99 MPH, a lock up *should* bump you into 100.

Hmmm, more switches usually scare me. I'll get with some of the locals and see if they know what needs to be done to try this out. Thanks for the info.

your truck seems normal to me. I was running the same ET's when mine was stock and my MPH was in the 91 - 93 range.

The stock turbo trucks generally fall on their faces once they hit 60 mph.

The TC lockup mod is the easiest thing you'll ever do to shave off a tenth or two.
