isnt the point of the PTE system, that you dont have to use a wastegate on the crossover?

a PT52 should have an internal wastegate unless its an antique.

and if you do install a wastegate, dont put it on the downpipe.

Code what?
Keep the internal on the PTE, unless you realy like externals. The PTE turbo's can be clocked easily and still be able to retain the internal gate.

Maybe it is the new thing for to install wastegates on the downpipe.

Don't think a wastegate on a downpipe will do much though, except a big exhaust leak when it opens, which might help turbo spool more, and create more boost.

Would it be called a reverse boost control then?

I think this design is what E would be reffering to. Why is this your opinion E?

He's saying you can't simply put a wastegate on a downpipe.

People refer to those setups with a wastegate on a downpipe, but venting exhaust from the downpipe won't do anything. They simply vent into the downpipe from the turbine housing.

im not sure i see any difference in that and the internal? whats the advantage? unless you port the PTE housing to a larger hole size, but you can do that with an internal as well. i dont get it? is it a 3.5" pipe? um.......

brain hurting.......

ok i give up. i still dont get it.

Externals will have a higher flow

Externals are dual port, if that matters

At our level, either will work well IMO, but just to give ya an idea - go look at the 7-8-9 second Mustangs and see how many internal wastegates they have.

Just giving some perspective.
