Now my new Typoon is not in tune, has a slight misfire because of it, and my shocks are shot. My buddies VR4 is dealership tuned, completely stock, but fast as hell. Off the line last night I had him to about 50-55mph. No luanch, just brake to pedal on the gas. He said he was pushin hard but I don't think I broke 3000rpms! What should my first upgrade be? I don't want to go nuts, but I need to put the Mitsubishit in it's place.

Should need nothing but tuning. I'm set to take the king of the hill trophy from a VR4 on Sat. that I've beat several times, I've just never stayed. Thank god for our new 7.99 and under class, it frees up the low-mid 8s for me.(1/8 mile).I've got a stock turbo&converter, but little else and he's running big twin and plenty of electronics,I/Cs, etc. The closest I've come to losing is .21 seconds. You need to put that DSM down!

My roommate had a vr4... he sold it before i bought the ty, but theres little our trucks can do in the long term at all, sure we can pull it off the line, and tuned right beat it to the end of the 1/4... but from a freeway roll those cars kick ass up to around 172 where i think they govern out....

Yep used to own one myself... excelleration was mad.... the transmissions weren't worth sh!t though... more headaches than the car is worth.. if you want a replacement there are no parts available thanks to mitsubishi's policy... you have to pay $3500 for a rebuilt unit straight from the manufacturer... a real rip off if you ask me....

but the six speed is sweet and stout.two friends of mine own vr4's and they both had 6 speeds rather than the stock 5. it makes a big difference and is stronger than the sotck pos.

A buddy of mine owns a 91 Stealth TT and we raced a 92 Typhoon from about 45 on the Freeway, You know the outcome, stealth won...but from the line, Ty owned till about 55 or so. I think the fastest we have got going in that thing was around 135-145
