I sold my Duramax last month and have been on the hunt for a nice truck....but nothing is out there in my price range. So....my Typhoon is my daily driver. Today, I got home from work and I hear what I think is an exhast leak. I cut my cat off and I have a straight pipe with two 4 inch wide band clamps holding the straght pipe in place...works great for the past 4 years. So I go under my Ty, look and feel around. Re-set the band clamps and I used some silicone. I start her up and TICK TICK TICK...So...I put her up on ramps, get under her with a stethoscope and I think I hear a tick coming from the transmission. I then take her out for a spin and sure as all hell......trans slips when my foot is in the throttle:tdown: I feel like I am now in a position where I have to find a truck. Hell, if the tick was not so freaking loud, I would trade the Ty in!!!! I"M PISSED

In the old days they would just put a little saw dust in that thing and call it a day . Sorry to hear about your poor '93 . Putting in a new trans is cheaper than buying another truck , you couldnt r+r that job in a weekend ?

Well, I could but I'm also in the process of looking at 4 trucks tomorrow (4 hr drive away). Sawdust huh? I am so pissed right now I could...go piss in the trans oil and add some sawdust, but the tick tick tick would probably get worse:roll:

The prevous owner had the transmission rebuilt......that was 14K miles ago. I doubt I had thrased on my Ty to the point that it failed in that time. I think I got the shaft! I'll find out what it looks like inside when I pull her apart:rant:
