Guys,
Im not gonna try and reinvent the automatic transmission but I was thinking about a diiferant way of working it. This might be a stupid question or not, if it is dont chew me up, Im just thinking. Considering how much torque our motors put on the transmission and then on top of that you have the massive torque multiplication of the TC, I was thinkin why wasnt the automatic transmission designed with the TC on the output shaft instead of on the front of the tranny???? The only strain the transmissions internal parts would have to bear would be that of the engines torque and not any more from the TC. Then once the engines power has gone through the tranny, it would then be multiplyied by the TC, and then deleivered to the Driveline. Im sure you could just have a direct connection from the flywheel to the transmissions input shaft, to drive the pump and all. Why wouldnt it work???? Fern Sy#477
