Transfer case ???

Ok guys I need some help.
The propshaft broke this past Sat at the track. So on Sunday I ordered a gilbert shaft from Scott. Well i decided to run it rwd while i wait for the new shaft to come in.But found out after i removed the old broken propshaft that the rear wheels would not turn at all in any gear.I noticed that flange the bolts up to the front propshaft does turn in any gear.Did the viscious couping break or did something else break in the transfercase which does not allow the rear wheels to turn?

I have the syclone on jack stands on all four wheels. I have moved the wheels by hand and they move freely so I know the parking brake is not on.
I have checked the shift linkage and it does move from park,R,N,(D),D,2,and 1.And you can see the front prop shaft turn while putting it any gear.

So your turning the propshaft flange and the wheels are turning?
If you are in park, it will be almost impossible. Put it in neutral and then try to turn everything. There are a few threads on how to check your transfer case already. Your saying the front flange up on the front diff will turn but the flange on the transfer case will not?
If that shaft was spinning at a few 100 or 1000 rpm when you broke it and it jammed on something for just an instant, it could have very well broken something inside the case.
As many stock propshaft that have broken, it doesn't seem worth actually boost launching on them. They damage too much other stuff when they go out. Your lucky it didn't punch a hole in the side of your trans.

Thanks guys for your help.
I move the front flange by hand since I don't have the gilbert prop shaft and it does move both wheels.So the front diff is alright.The flange off the transfer case moves once you put it in drive and stops once you put it in (N).This is what i'm thinking what happened but not sure. Something broke in the transfercase once I lunched off the line 1st time around.On the 2nd run all the torque transfered to the front wheels causing the front prop shaft to break.I have gone thru and searched thru some threads and i can't seem to find anything similar to this problem or how to trouble shoot the transfercase.So I'm really leaning on the transfer case being the problem but I want to make sure.

Well found out the transfer case is shot.I took the rear drive line off and once I had it on the ground something just popped out of the yoke.Guess what it was the output shaft from the transfer case.If anyone can post some pictures for me I'll send them to you.

It's actually a more common problem than people think.I you do a boosted launch, it over spins the viscous (front) faster than the rear AND burns it out every time ( or in my case EXPLODES ! ! ! )
So yes your X Fer case is shot because you got on in with out a front propshaft in.
