Transfer Case question

Can anybody confirm that a same year 91-93 chevy astro van uses the same 4472 case as a typhoon??

Im in need of a new case, and did a search on www.uneedapart.com and got a quote back from a place for 345 shipped and it has 43,000 miles and its out of a 92 AWD astro van.

I just want to confirm that they use the same case.

You "MAY" have to machine the front cover to make it fit...

what is wrong with yours?

there are rebuild kits (bearings and seals) available on line for around $100.

Thet are VERY EASY to take apart and rebuild...

well the problem with mine is that the VC is completely shot, and it has 160,xxx miles on it and my plan is to find a decent good used case to put into the truck for the time being and then rebuild the stocker case with all nes bearings and seals and a new VC.

I tried to have the truck dynoed yesterday but when i pulled the front propshaft(RWD dyno) the truck would go anywhere and you could just hear the transfer case spinning, but when the front shaft is installed, it seems to be working fine and on a high boost launch it will actually spin the rear tires for a few seconds before the front starts to spin.

What do you mean by machine the front of it? Where it meets to back of the transmission? If there both from behind a 700 trans why would this be needed??

The other thing i was thinking if i do buy this one for 345 shipped out of a 92 astro van,since the case might not bolt up, can i just swap out all the guts and out them in my stock case and just get away with buying a seal and gasket kit, seeing as this other case only has 43K miles it should be in pretty good shape i would think.
