Transfer Case Issues

Hi,
I'm new to the forum thing. I'm here because i am a big fan of the syclones, and i also own a 91 S-10 that has been converted to AWD and has a 406 small block with approx. 575 to 600 hp. It does not have any power adders, its just all motor. The problem i am having is with the horsepower being around the 600 range, the drive train is taking its toll, especially the transfer case. Does anyone have any suggestions on this problem, such as is there any way to beef the transfer case up?

Thanks

There have been several 800+ HP trucks that run a SyTy transfer case. It's not generally a big thing for us.

Re: Transfer Case Issues

well i pull the tranny and transfer case a couple weeks ago to get them checked out, the chain in the transfer case was stretched out to the point of coming close to rubbing the case housing

Re: Transfer Case Issues

How does the transfer case hold up with the 800 + hp?

The t-case is the least of our worries. Transmissions will give out far ahead of the T-case.

I've seen very few failed t-cases where the proper fluid was in it, and the front/rear tire revolutions were kept equal.

Many, many 10 second and faster 1/4 mile passes have been made with no t-case issues.

Re: Transfer Case Issues

me and a friend of mine are looking into building a 6.0 LS motor with twin turbos for the truck, looking at some serious hp so what transmission do you recommend for this setup if t-case is not of major concern?

Re: Transfer Case Issues

4l80E.

the chain stretches overtime,. more from abuse than just the power. forget about the transfercase being a weak thing.
search for paris his truck on google. good luck with your build
