trans temp gauge

Hey i have a 92 ty and i am puting in a b&m super cooler and i also have a trans temp gauge i want to install, where should i mount this, should i tee it into the trans cooler line?

yes, T-ing into the lower (out) cooler line usually yields the most accurate results.

some people have welded bungs into their transmission pans for the sensor, but some people will argue that the heat from the pan is different from the actual fluid thus resulting in false readings. Im not sure if there is any truth to that, but its worth mentioning.

Like Morgan said, definiltly T-ing out of the lower line is best as it will read the higher temperature of the two.

For twice the filtering and a place to mount a temperature sender, a remote transmission filter is still the best location IMO:

"Summit remote transmission filter part #SUM-G4980. Filter is upstream of all coolers mounted where the stock battery tray was. Temperature sender is between the lines."

Changed the transmission filter in my daily driven S10 the other day as a matter of fact. Took a whopping 20 seconds to do and didn't even have to get under the truck...
