has anyone tried to adapt a 4L80 trans to our toys. they are supposed to be stronger but they're based as I understand on a 400 which is a longer case and may not have the strongest tail shaft in the world.

I'm having trouble keeping a 700 in and I'm using the good ones. I't for a sy that pulls 1.6 60 footers and 6:80's in the eighth. I would like a little help if anyone has theultimate receipt for a 700. Just went through a hartman and a rossler and this shit is gettin spensive. I don't know if a 350 would be the best way to go cause I use all four gears in the quarter.

How long has the 700 lasted, how many passes, what are you running, 10.60s ? What tranny are the hoovers running?

It runs 1.5's for 60 ft and about 6:8's for the eighth. about 10:8's.

Only weak link is I don't have a tranny. This time I am going to tell whoever that I want the absolute ultimate that can be built. I've been trying to get hold of Brian but I think he must be traveling. got an auto response from him saying so. He's tough to get hold of anyway. I talked to roadmaster. anyone have any opinions good or bad about him? The last tranny was by carl rossler in ohio. He builds trannys for lingenfelter and has a national reputation for being extremely good.

0-60 this stokes monster really cooks. But it isn't rolling through the lights in neutral too good!

roadmaster transmission can make a 4l80E, that works real nice.

Ryan here in chicago has one in his typhoon, and it acutally moves and runs. unlike the other 4l80e projects out there.

Have you made a full quarter mile pass, with 6.80s you should be 10.50-10.60s :D

Thanks for the answers and keep them coming. I emailed AR allready and am waiting to see what they say. Probably won't do anything until I hear from BH but haven't gotten any answer. Auto response on email says he is on the west coast. hopefully he'll call soon. I really want to do one of these with the utmost that can be done and have some fun. taking tranny in and out is not what I call fun.

Several guys have sent me PM's asking for a little info on my new toy. My other one was a great and fast truck, but this one is in a whole other world. I bought it from a really good buddy that wanted to go in a different performance direction from Sy's but didn't want to lose it. We had always gone places together and he has made a real sacrafice to me. Thanks Ray. We kept it in the family so to speak. A little info on the truck for those interested and who have asked.

Full Jim Stokes motot and setup. he did the whole thing.
24#'s of boost= over 760 lbs of torque @ 4K with 661 horse @ 5K
everything you can think of that you would want bullit proof is in the motor
Mark williams 12 bolt rear end with racing axles and adjustable traction bars setup
racing prop shaft
Dynatec aluminum driveshaft
baer brakes

It looks like a show car. It's a sweet piece. I'll try to post some pictures when i can figure out how to do that.

people have been asking how it runs. Last time slip was

1:531 60 ft
6:954 1/8 @100.89
12:81 @123+ mph
It's running a little fat on top, so I think there is more there. I could turn up the boost a little or lean it out.
stokes says it will take it. Need to become much better with speedpro in the future

It's pretty beasty. Now I have to get the right tranny. I appreciate the help you guys are giving me.
