Tranny Problem

My '92 Ty wont' go into gear unless it has warmed up for approx. 10 to 15 min. When running, it leaks out a good size puddle. I recently had the Tranny flushed and the shop said that the pump pressure is low. Does this mean anything to anyone?

Thanks!

Re: Tranny Problem

Where is the puddle comming from, front, rear, trans/transfer case gasket?

Re: Tranny Problem

seems like they left something loose from wherever they hooked up to it to do the flush. did it take this long to work correctly before the flush? if not then I supose th eflush flushed some crap into your VB or pump system and is causing a low pressure problem. need to fix it before it costs you a new tranny. (which is probably what they wanted to sell you instead of a flsuh)

Re: Tranny Problem

It actually started doing this before the flush. The leak is coming somewhere from the front of the trans. but I haven't pinpointed it yet.

Re: Tranny Problem

I would say take a look at the trans cooler lines running from the passanger side of the trans to the radiator. Not to likly but one might have a hole in it from being pinched or simply rotted out. Take a look at the dipstick tube. If the trans was worked on and it was not inserted completly it might be leaking around there, it uses a large grommet type seat. Otherwise i would suggest getting it up on some jackstands cleaning it real good with brake clean and try to pinpoint the leak.

Re: Tranny Problem

pump gasket or seal? would cause a leak in the front of the tranny and low pump pressure probably
