Tranny not shifting into 3rd

Hey all,

I'm just picked up my typhoon a couple weeks ago. I'm sure alot of you know it as morgans "ugly duckling" project. The motor and tranny have been replaced and currently have 20 miles on each. Tonight was the first time i took it out to a main road and the truck basically shifted through 1st, 2nd and that was it. While on the phone with morgan troubleshooting I shifted from D to 2 trying to get it to shift but no dice. I've taken 2nd all the way to 4500rpm and no shift, so I was wondering if anybody had any ideas what i should check. I have all day tomorrow dedicated to working on the truck so if you can help me out i really appreciate it.

when it went into 2nd was it super freaking hard and late or normal? if it was late you prob have a stuck tv valve. if it was normal then you prob have a stuck 2-3 shift valve. if all of them were just latre then you would prob have a stuck governor.

problem is fixed.

he went out and shifted between 2nd and D like I suggested last night and if finally dropped into 3rd after a while.

hey yea the problem ended up working itself out, it shifts into third right at 3000 rpms now on a consistent basis, i haven't had it go into 4th yet but i haven't really got it that fast yet, i've just been doing alot of stop and go to break it in. thank again morgan for you help, i think the TV cable is fine everything is shifting good (except fourth because i haven't tried it lol) thanks guys
