TRANFER CASE ? pLEASE HELP

sy2675

He Saved the Pimp'n Game!
The rear output shaft of my transfer case moves! I think the bearing in going/went bad. I thought it was just the rear seal but after 2 failed i noticed the play in the shaft itself. Do i have to rebulid the whole TC or can the bearing be swapped out w/o doing the entire TC?

i will do some research just thought i would start by asking since you guys seem to know all!

You should be able to disassemble the T-case and replace the BUSHING w/o doing a complete rebuild. I think...:eyes:

These things have output bushings right...

Looks like it is pressed onto the shaft and inserted from teh inside of the case.
If you separate the t-Case I would replace ALL of the bearings/bushings and seals.
also a good time to inspect the chain and sprockets, those aren;t too $$$ to replace at the same time.
That viscous clutch is what hurts. $600 for that alone.
