Torque converter question

My friend and i just got done pulling my tranny in the black ty to get the converter out of it. A while back i bought a complete syty tranny with a stock converter. Is there a way to inspect the converter or check it to see if it's good? I would hate to put the truck back together to find out it was bad.

no there isn't much as far as checking a converter while it's out. other then finding a trans shop with a tranny dyno and a 700 they will loan you.

you could have it opened up by a conv shop for ~100. then they could rebuild it while it's open.

install it and hope for the best

those are your only 3 options..

good luck. give it a try and change your fluid right away... drain the old conv really good and see if anything comes out...
