torque converter cover

how in the hell do you put that stupid cover back over the torque converter w/o taking the propshaft out??? it wont go back on.....anybody got any tricks for puting it back together? any help appreciated thanks

I don't remember having any probs performing this? I removed mine last year, and when it was time to reinstall it, I just slipped it back on. Never touched the front propshaft. Maybe you just have to try some different install 'angles'. Make sure you have the truck jacked up high enough so you have plenty of room to work. Sorry I can't help ya more.

i just cant get past the tranny cooler lines and the boot on the prop shaft....dont know if there is anything i can do but keep trying?

i had to manipulate the lines to get mine back up by putting the propshaft side up first and pulling them out of the way of the cover until it slipped in.

i could not get the cover off/on with the front prop shaft in place mainly because of no clearance for the torx bolt socket. removing the propshaft was ok because i take it off twice a year to grease the cardan joint (i find it impossible to do it on the car). then replaced the torx bolt with a hex head bolt so at least a box/open end wrench will fit on it.
