Tie Down Cable

[Hu Ryde]

1 Go to local Auto store and buy a tailgate cable and a grade 8 bolt.

2 Jack truck up and remove front driver wheel.

3 Attach cable to bolt behind alt.

4 Route cable down to frame and drill hole so there is very little slack in line.

5 Move cable out of the way and tap the hole to accept grade 8 bolt.

6 Run the bolt through cable and into frame.

How is that bolt going to hold up just being that it is just taped into the frame rail, and not fastend on the back side of the bolt just thought.?

Mine has held up for about 8 months. That's with launches and everything else that comes with a Sy. I guess it would be possible to get a washer and nut back there but I have had good luck without, ok where is some wood to knock on......

I bought the HELP! tailgate cable for GM Blazer & Jimmy PN#38511 from Kragen. It's the perfect length to connect the bolt just above and to the right driver side sway bar mount. I routed it between the two oil lines going to the remote oil filter. It looks like there shouldn't be any contact when the engine lifts, but I will check for clearance anyway. I don't want to put any unnecessary holes in my Syclone. The black cable looks it belongs there. Nice OEM look.
