Re: ticking sound

Take out the propshaft and see if it goes away. Stock props hardly ever get lubed because they just about have to be removed to be done properly. Stupid design.

Re: ticking sound

Is the noise there if your at a stop? or only when moving? I'd check for trans lines or fuel lines rubbing or banging against the frame or what not.

Re: ticking sound

both stopeed and moving, it makes noise same speed as idle as rpms increase so does the speed of the noise im gonna go lift it now and see if i can find anything.. also gonna check the bolts for the turn down cap, on the downpipe

Re: ticking sound

My bad. I read it as though it started from a stop and increased steadily. A torque converter can make that noise also. Check the exhaust leak deal first though.

Re: ticking sound

wasnt any of the easy fixes. its inside the trans. my mechanic that built the trans said it might eb the flywheel, flexplate, ot torque converter. At this point im about to convert to RWD, th400 trans and tub the shit outta the rear with big phat ass tires. i cant take this tranny no more

Re: ticking sound

At least a TH400 wouldn't cost much to do. I've got a couple shafts left to make a TH400 bolt up to the 4472 if you really want to go that route.

Re: ticking sound

Well it happen again. after the lat post yesterday went to go put gas in it. The trans let go again. went to shift very easily under no load into 3rd and slipped + never caught the gear. resulting in me having to get it towed back home. im so sick and tired of this. im about to sell it

Yep. You just need an adaptor plate to go between the trans and stock transfercase adaptor. I have them too.

Sweet! Hopefully, something was just stuck up in there and came out.

FYI, you burned up the 3-4 clutches.

Re: ticking sound

wat ever the ticking sound was, it stopped after the trans pooped out. so i guess it was inside the tranny. how much for the parts to convert?
