TC spline and other Qs

I know stall converters have been covered up the wazoo... but I have dial up and am tired of searching post after post for what I'm looking for. So.. what is the spline on the torque converters we use, 27, or 30? I've got some vibration, due to the TC I believe, and wanted to order a TC.
I want a higher stall since I found out I have a bigger turbo... (stock is 2000 or so right?). What the parts guy had was a 10", lock up stall... but he wasn't sure if it's the 27 or the 30 spline for my truck. Also, on the stall speed... he had it listed in "over stock stall".. like 2000rpm over stock. So when you guys say you run a 2800rpm stall... would that be 800 over stock (assuming stock is 2000rpm?) Just want to make sure I order the right part. From what I gathered the 9/11 seems to be a good converter. Does anyone have a part number on that, and a price? I also read the #2 super street raptor was pretty good... what the p/n and price on that as well? And the makco/dacco pro street intruder p/n pp7730....any info on that, is it garbage or what? I'm looking for around a 2800 stall. Thanks

30 spline.

Stall numbers that get thrown around here are total stall RPM. Example: A post containing "I want a 2800 RPM stall converter" would = someone wanting a 2800 RPM stall converter NOT the stock stall + 2800 RPM.

The rest of your questions I'll leave for ppl more qualified than me.

The 9/11 most ppl around here have come to know is sold on a truck by truck basis. so it's tailored to your build. you can get it anyhere from 2500 to sky high rpm.

the old school original 9/11 is no longer available. as a new item but they can be found used quite easily

The 9/11 now offered is the billet cover version and is now the standard isue and I sell them for $650 delivered.

Thats the only conv I use and the only one I reccommend. If you look close enough you will see that this is the conv in the 15 fastest trucks out there.

You will find almost as many opinions on conv choices as you to tie choices so I wish you the best of luck. If you need any more info to help in your decision please aim, email or pm me.

thanks for the input, i'll talk to my contact at the shop.. he sells tci stuff.

$650....wow. I don't have that kinda money right now. What a predicament (sp?). How about the dacco or raptor converters? Cheaper than $650? I know you get what you pay for.. but it would at least hold up for a year or so right, till I can save money up to spend on the truck? Stuck in a bind here, need a converter, but don't have the money for the top shelf stuff. Thanks

In a few more days, I will be running a 3K stall with lockup from Hughes Performance that I bought from Pace Performance for $412.75 delivered. The list price on this converter is $956.37... I am still running stock turbo as is a bud of mine who got the same converter at my recommendation. I helped him install it in his ty and it lauches harder than my sy does and boost is almost instant  . Can't wait to see how it performs in my truck.
