TC lockup adjustment

I got my Ty second hand. Transmission had been "built for the track", I was told. It wont go into overdrive until you hit 55 and is costing me bundles in fuel as a result. Anyone know how to set it back to original config?

I'm not a tranny expert but it sounds like your "tv cable" needs adjusting. Does it shift really hard? If it does you may want to adjust the cable. Look it up w/ the search option on the BB. It can be adjusted for softer or harder shifts which i believe, as a result, lowers or raises the shift RPM's.

At what rpm does it shift under WOT from 1st to 2nd. Is it a built motor also. If it shifts at 5500 also then you probably have a 4.3 S10 governor in it. If so, then you will need to install a stock SYTY governor. As you raise the shift points with the governor you also raise the point when overdrive engages. hth
