Giving some thought on the next TX meet in 2014, I'd like to consider moving the date to late spring. Between March-May, will this early in the year work for you? It will consist of the same schedule at the same place. Drag Racing at Lil River dragway in Temple then Sunday at Stillhouse hollow lake. I know the Temps here in June-August really can make things miserable outside. I'd like to set a date by the end of October if this will not interfere with a majority of those planning for June-August.

I wouldn't mind setting it by vote, the first year we did that was a complete miss of people who voted and didn't show. It's one Saturday and Sunday with sixth month notice. If you can't manage that then I don't know what to do. People have things come up last minute and that's understood. Only way this is going to grow larger every year is by keeping plans consistent. Any objections I'm all ears.

Those who I have contacts in my phone will be getting a phone call. T shirts are on my todo list this year again as a way to take roll.

I will have to check with Kirk at lil river for a Saturday during those months that is all street night, no brackets.
There schedule varies and sometimes they only host 1 street night earlier in the season. I will give him a call and check next week. FYI there is always the SAR truck shootout in late February I believe. We could make a single day event out of that and shoot for our annual 2 day meet in April/May. Regardless I just need a affermative date from Kirk for a Saturday street night. The pavilion at the lake can be scheduled following the track availability.

I am down for whenever. Hot or cool. Setting a date for the meet will give me a set date of when to have my truck ready haha.

It really doesn't matter to me either, since it's on a weekend it won't interfere with work. I'll be trailering the Sy like I did at the last meet so I'm good to go.

I'll remember to call Kirk today to ask which month next year he will be hosting the most Saturday night street racing in the spring. If anyone is interested in getting together to race before the holidays there last Saturday night street race is November 16th. If there are at least a few interested in meeting up the 16th I'll organize something.

UPDATE: talked to Kirk and he said they have at least 1 Saturday street night a month the beginning of the season in march-may. Although he could not promise any dates as of yet. He says mid December he will have next seasons schedule out. So we will wait till December to decide a date. Guessing we should do late April or may. Not as much notice as expected but we should be able to manage. The cooler temps will be worth it.

So until then, those interested in racing Saturday night November 16th please Speak up and I'll get a list of us togather.

Little river dragway, same track you ran on Abe. Unfortunately it's the only track open for Saturday night street. I'll start a thread soon for it. So far it will be joe and I racing.

We are meeting for one evening for racing, not anything like our annual Texas meet that goes Saturday and Sunday.

Jharrison and I had been saying when it cools off we would like to meet up to run at a track. SAR and Baytown only run street Friday night. Lonestar runs Saturdays sometimes but with brackets and only test n tune between. So the only viable option was lil river as it's about equal distance for Houston and San Antonio guys. Last time I ran was at lonestar and it was to damn hot and I didn't have enough time between brackets to actually do any tuning. I was actually dissapointed with lonestar for as nice as the track was, they were very unorganized with announcements and brackets.

Yes, this will be the third annual meet. My goal this year is to move it closer to the late spring vs mid summer. More enjoyable weather outdoors for racing
