Syclone vs. Honda S2000

FINALLY!! There are a few cars that I have a huge hankering for laying the smack down... and I never get to. Here they are:

Acura NSX (looks like a Ferrari but performs like a Honda, and this one "NSX Prime" site was so full of itself, it talked about how to handle owning a "Supercar" and how to give out photos with your autograph.)
Nissan 300ZX (people think they are fast, but they aren't. And hideous headlights to boot).

And finally, Honda S2000. Reported to be somewhat fast but in reality only runs low 14s if you drive it like you hate it and wind it up like a sewing machine.

Well I finally got my chance for the S2000 last night after MANY failed attempts. I'm out cruising and I swear there were no less than 3 of them, a red, yellow, and silver one. I saw the Red one pull out and I did a quick U turn. I should have been able to easily catch him, but of course about 20 cars pulled out while I was chasing him and I got stuck behind the "Slow Car" out of 3 lanes almost every time I made a lane change.. I made a whole 7-minute lap and still couldn't catch the guy although I could see him. Meanwhile a 97-ish SVT Cobra is getting antsy, as is a nice looking LS1 Camaro Z28. Already raced a few of those tonight so I'm sticking to the S2000. Well of course both the Cobra and the Z28 manage to get ahead of me even though I'm trying hard as possible to get up to the S2000.

Eventually we get to the END of the cruising strip and I see a light open up so I make the move and the S2000 turns off!! Shit. Then Tracy tells me he did a U-turn and is preparing to turn back on the cruising strip. I bust a U-turn myself and make an ADDITIONAL strategic U-turn to buy some extra time for the S2000's turn-light. IT WORKS!!! I turn out back onto the cruising strip and he gets a Green Arrow and he's right behind me. Pulls up next to me and I'm deciding whether or not to do a roll-on. I know those things must make their power on top end, and my Sy is weak from a roll. So I just checked out his girlfriend and what kind of guy he was. I'm anxious as hell for a light and we keep barely missing them. Eventually 3 lights go yellow in a ROW and we're guaranteed at least one of them!! Bingo!! We're in, I pull up to the line and look over at him. His girlfriend is obviously seeing if we are going to run. I look at him and he's as excited as I am! I point forward and he nods and giggles. I was a little nervous because I saw before, his rear tires looked like some type of road racing slick, I couldn't see any tread on them but I may have just gotten a bad look. I build up boost as the light goes yellow and I hear his engine come up in rev's. Light turns and he gets the jump, I nail it and for a split-second I notice he is staying next to me, but as the boost comes online to full power I BLOW by him by about 3-4 carlengths before I get outta 1st gear and exit the intersection! Then I keep the hammer down and check the rearview to see if he is going to gain or not! 40-50-60 and I notice his distance has increased to 5 lengths behind. I let off and it was a crushing kill! 8)

He pulls up and his girlfriend has a huge smile on her face, they were both obviously real good sports about it. We chatted a little bit (as much as you can do shouting out your windows across cars at 35MPH) and get to another light. Not ready to race because by the time we stop, the light is already turned green. So we both ease into it and I hear his Honda start to scream so I drop the hammer again and just pull on him so hard it nearly sucked the paint off his doors! Syclone is 2-0!

Finally we get near the last stoplight. We didn't get the light but had to slow down, a merge lane is coming up and he hits it one last time, now it's about 30MPH and I'm nervous about a roll-on contest with him. Sure I can toast him off the line but from a roll, his car must be at its best, and the Sy at its worst. He gasses it and I do the same, and I pull him AGAIN!!! This guy just can't win!

I could tell the S2000 is fast alright, but not fast enough to beat the Syclone anywhere on the street. Total score: Syclone 3, S2000 0.

So tell me this...did he have at least 100k under the hood of that engine?

Good kill Tooky, keep it up.

Oh no, he was giggling because he was so excited about the race, not as an insult. I didn't really make that clear in my story..

Actually, I was just happy that SWAT didn't come to my house, and disrespect my family. ;-)
