Ok, Guys, now I've got a Syclone with 4L80E, with stock trans case. :angel:

The mods i've done is, in short, adapter plate, custom output shaft, shorter rear shaft, longer front shaft, modified fastening points, and some minor transmission linkage mods.

:wink:

Going for race this weekend to give it a test. Will be back with timeslips... (1/8-mile)

it might hurt, but seems to me anybody who is baddass enough to stake out on their own and do what others have been talkin about doin for years around here can say any damn thing he wants.

And with that it mind since i'm about to put a 400 in my sy, well i might be pussie to big robert there with his 4l80e, but im gonna be one bad mama jamma to all these pussies with a 700r4 running around here.

now let me get the hell outta here before this big friggin linch mob tries to kick my ass,

So, what is the fastest truck that ran a 4l60/700r4, les , is it you , you went 10.20 right, how many runs did you get outa the tranny before it let go.

Same for robert, you went 10.20 or something, how long or how many runs did it take to break the small tranny, did you have all the hartman stuff?

I think its good information to know this , when they broke , how long they lasted, and then you could tell someone with a properly built 4l60/700r4 might be good for 11.0s-10.70s, and after that its 4l80 time.

well i tell ya what, if i manage to break this 400 thats comin to me...

yep just give up racing.

fwiw the tranny that i broke with my new motor was 2 years old and had about 80 runs on it, 40 from the old motor and 40 from the new.

So my motor doesnt compare to the 10 sec trucks but, i think once you get to the point of lifting a wheel off the ground you need something pretty serious to hold your trans together.

the good part of this is that I wont have to quit racing.

I have broken my 700 and 4L60 E transmission 4 times. They hold quite good for mid tens. If you wanna go faster, don´t spend any more money on the 700, or 4L60E. Our problem is the TQ, not the horsepower.
4L80E, I hope it´s gonna hold for my TQ levels. I´m gonna put up some pictures, later on.

sounds like why I try to limit my times to low mid 10's and not go goofy on the stall. hopefully the new clutches will make the difference. that and lookin at the temp gauge and not bein stupid
