many leak or people decide to get new ones.
this thread will give you the how to with hand tools you need to put a new TB on for under $200.
(depending on brand and size-52-58 mm etc)

assuming you've removed your tb ...
buy a tpi throttle body like this 52mm from somewhere>

remove the iac housing from the bottom with the 7 torx srcews

bolt that shit up

next tps sensor has 2 more torx screws
swap that over

now the fun part and 2 differences to make the stock linkage work here.
1) grind off carefully the stock linkage rivit, then carefully pry off stock shaft.

the aftermarket linkage rod is bigger than the stock slots in the linkage so some fileing/ dremel is required to make them fit over the new shaft. do not leave any play or wiggle.

these pics show the aftermarket linkage as i lost the pic from original.

Re: SY/TY throttle body conversion

Get ALL the gaskets to do this for cheap from AutoZone or the like:

"GP Sorensen #96-3008 from AutoZone for $6 includes upper throttle body gasket too. Not pictured because it is on my truck."

all those are included with the TB.(at least on my summit one)

now lets Finnish this

last pics show the aftermarket linkage with a hand file to enlarge the factory linkage holes to fit over your new TB.
why/
cause everyone wants everything to work including getting enough line pressure to not blow the tranny.

once factory linkage is fitted- it looks like this

2013-12-11_17-04-44_286.jpg

in this pic you'll notice the factory line rubber capped (gm style clamp)off along with the other one i capped off
2013-12-11_17-11-20_631.jpg

the factory had the upper hole blocked .

2013-12-11_17-23-45_157.jpg

me further complicating things have a 7th injector so that top hole needed more than rubber since gas shoots into there from an extra fuel injector.
i chose a tig welder

at this point you can put the 6 screws in the top plate if you chose a throttle body of this kind.

ill re read for spelling skipped steps and welcome revisions.
hopefully this saved you at currant market value $100 -$200 like it did me.

Re: SY/TY throttle body conversion

You do realize the only sy/ty specific part on the linkage bolts on, you just need to remove the mounting studs on the summit TB, there is nothing special about the TB on our trucks they just added a piece to the linkage

then i should be able to buy rpm or bbk tbs all day for $199 lol

our special linkage does not just bolt on or unbolt apart and the top tb hole is blocked specifically from gm .

the shaft on the billet TB is larger than the stock and our sy/ty specific linkage will not slide over it without some custom file /dremal work.

summit did supply 2 sets of linkage with the hardware- but its not an exact match to ours.

members on here have complained about the 1-2 shift bang and cable length /line pressure issues using supposed sy/ty specific throttles from vendors.
swapping the factory linkage ends all that.
hope this helps

Re: SY/TY throttle body conversion

another note to this:
if you have a custom top plate for the stock TB, it will not fit this.

the middle hole has moved down about a 1/8 inch and would have to be welded and re drilled or re custom made to the spec of the aftermarket supplied gasket/top plate.

This truck is awesome!!
Re: SY/TY throttle body conversion

John have you put this on your truck yet to test it out?

to make your factory, custom ,or 7th injector top plate fit, you must carefully use a dermal tool to wallow out the middle top hole as seen here.

gasket-ed & tightened down; now ready for the 2nd gasket to the right and top injector holder beside that

strictly 7th injector installed here but you get the idea

4 bolts and new gasket to the upper intake- and top finger(tps) bottom finger (iac) sensor plugged in
