Re: Sy 678

So I have some pipes for the intercooler i have to assemble. I cant get nothing to line up.

Spoke to some people who have installed these kits. I am being told have to reclock the turbo.

What happnes when i spin the thing what am i supposed to do with the wastegate mount? as well as the boost solenoid. I am being told that the turbo pipe runs on the inside of the fender. I was looking to source out some photos becasue apperantly i am on the wrong track. Really as i get deeper and deeper into this i realise im doing things 2-3 times This is where i made it. I snapped a pic of the placement of the two most obvious pipes. Am told the turbo needs to be clocked to 5-530.

Re: Sy 678

a long journey on intercooler assembly started here. first off thing does not need to be clocked.

And after finding a simmilar topic from a truck that recently went up for sale, dude did a restore almost 10 years ago with the exact kit. God was on my side on that one. after examining his photos and almost wanting to get rid of the whole intercooler kit... I reviewed things once more and noticed my itercooler was actually on backwards.

Figured that this would pretty much be it for the posting of the work being done- Only need to figure out a battery becasue of my intercooler kit. Looking to fire this up before my b- day

Re: Sy 678

Yea. Been working super hard. Really wish I had that lift. After assembling everything from boxes or rubbermaids, its hard to believe there NOT much room left under there. They way im looking at it is : I finished the truck, assembled, and than had to dissasemble to do other things... no brainers.. oil dipstick.. intercooler came off like 4x, still off. bumpers/front grill...

Missing piece is in the mail today. Plan on getting it off the jacks today and mainly on the ground for the most part now. Thanks everyone. Its been a year since i joined today, I have purchased, built and not driven my truck yet but i have a feeling will soon.

We'd love to see it. I'm thinking mid-winter mini-meet when you get it running. (barring salt or snow on the ground).

Re: Sy 678

started truck this afternoon. No leaks No Squeaks. Problem is i let it warm up get up to temp. Tried to get it to TACH up a bit and i was not alowd above 1500rpm.

Called my bro, told him to bring me my Laptop, and I attempted to DATAMASTER/DATALOG.

Well would not work. I wanted to try and acquire some codes or basic info to get truck running proper.
Cable said its working but not being reconized or something.

Wonder what I did wrong.

I noticed i could not get any pressure off turbo. I am going to read through my paper work and see how i can get datamaster to connect

Re: Sy 678

Got my bumper on. And it has this nasty gap.

Also purchase a KB intake setup.Bailed out on my other idea which was making a custom Alum intake setup. Played around and pretty much had to remove some parts and install others. Also purchased my battery (small AGM style)and side terminals to adapt the original stuff to new. so I did not have to butcher anything.
Got some more mandrel bent 304 stainless in 3 inch I will TIG something up.

Re: Sy 678

Looking for a favor, Check post # 23- last picture to the right of the wiper assembly theres that braided copper wire. Where does it go to. I hooked it up to something I think I should not have.

For some reason when I go to start, or lets say its running. the truck has a left turn signal that stays on. and the Interior dome light is also staying on.

Not sure what is up but I dont have a batt- hooked up but that seems to be it would def drain the battery.
anyone have any ideas on where to look. Also been looking for this spoken Tan/black wire to put the truck into "0" timing. Wheres the wire I disconnect located.

Re: Sy 678

Sounds like a ground wire to me. The tan/blk wire is behind the top edge of the carpet in the passenger footwell. Against the firewall.

Re: Sy 678

Well Its been a while since I have updated my truck thread. Been nothing but problems. I could not figure out photo bucket was complaing about that, but Changed browser and everything works.

Left off last driving the truck. It looked like this heading out the driveway-

Driveability and performance was POOR- I checked into the o2 sensor and problems further stemmed from that point.

I started disassembling things.

On the same Note, I started to change my plans. I collected a few parts over the last 2 weeks

Messed around for a while and got injectors on, and new FPR

Re: Sy 678

Completed my other project which was custom downpipe fabrication. Went better than I thought. Always wanted to work with mandrel bends and do something like this. 1st time.
