Summit remote trans filter w/ trans temp phased out

Welp just got off the phone with one of the techs at Summit (after being on hold for 25 minutes :roll: ) after speaking to a board member about the "missing" temp port. Unfortunately, Summit's SUM-G4980 remote trans filter is longer drilled and tapped for temperature senders . The manufacturer that makes them for Summit, phased that feature out... The pic on their webpage still shows the old style but, there is no mention of being able to monitor trans temps in the description.

However, hope is not lost. You can still get a remote filter housing that is drilled and tapped for the temp sender from Jeg's, made by Perma-Cool (part number is 771-10678 for $35.99). Summit sells the "deluxe" version as does Jeg's for $79.99 that includes an electric trans temp gauge. I know references have been made to the Summit part number for awhile now, just thought I would make a formal announcement to let everyone know that is interested in this mod...

Just rec.the Perma-cool kit today from Summit.PRM-10677($79.88).Bracket,filter,2 1/16 electric guage w/bracket ,wiring,and a bunch of clamps and hoses I will find another use for.

That trans temperature gauge that comes in that kit is a little too cheesy for my taste. I would much rather get the housing, filter and related hardware and buy the gauge of my choice rather than try to find a use for a gauge that I don't care for :2cents: .

I would like to thank Jeremy (aka mrweelr) for bring this to my attention. Sounds like it has already saved one board member from getting an unpleasant "surprise" .
