stronger front diff ?

Seems there´s no stronger front diff available for our Syclones.
At least I didn´t find anything on then forum and in the net.

Is there a possibillity to get a front diff out of an other car, that I could use
in the Syclone, without too much of custom work?

I don´t fear cutting or/and welding anything, though.
Just trying to find something that holds real good power and don´t cost me
days of custom fabrication.
Any ideas?

How fast are you planning to run? The stock front diff has gone in the 8.80's in quarter.

It appears to me based on several of your wanted posts your new to syty world and some research may save you money on parts that need upgraded -vs- ones that really don't cause us issues.

Transfer case splits torque 35/65 front-to-rear. 50/50 distribution when the rear slips. Assuming you build a motor with 700lbft of torque, the front diff will only see 245-350 lbft. 7.25" diff should have no problem handling that.

Motor will be more about 1200+ lbft and car will have 10x28x16 drag slicks up front.

I´m not really new, reading for a long time, now.
As I do with all of my cars....bevore I build them I´m reading A LOT in the forums.
And believe me, it´s really a LOT.
You´re right, I do benefit, did in the past.
But my power goals are not in a range that a lot of SYTY´s were, yet.
And based on my experince (the Sy is not my first high hp car build),
I have a pretty good feeling for what parts may eventually brake.

I plan on going REAL fast..engine will have about 1800hp (could do more).
Special built LS2 engine with 2 x Garrett GTX 4202 running on E85.

I just want to build the car with the strongest parts available,right from the beginning, to get the chances down as low as possible, that anything brakes.

That´s why I have stripped the frame, sandblastet it, epoxy coatet it, built an engine, have a built transmission, a built transfer case, an upgraded steering setup and a built frame (with custom made 4 link) with a custom built heavy duty rear axle ...........

I have my front diff built with a powertrax locking diff. for now.

Still searching for upgrades.

One of the guys on here who has a project thread going used either a Trailblazer or a fullsize front diff. on a heavily modified front end. I know it isn't much to go off of, but at least it's a start.

Just an fyi as I've been researching front diff's for a project I'm doing:

7.25" ifs - locker avail, powertrax etc.

8.25" ifs - used in 1/2 ton GM's. Almost no posi options as it breaks easily in offroad apps with lockers. Most truck guys swap to sfa

9.25" ifs - used in 3/4 and 1 ton GM's (2500/3500, Hummers, etc). Lot of options for posi/locker. Still trying to locate where I can buy one of these used.

a zr2 front diff is cast iron and will bolt in directly. The full size diff requires alot of fab work, i did one in the tttyphoon (<-- you can search that). Personally i would go with the zr2 front diff knowing how much work it is to put in a fullsize front diff.

Try C&P USA parts in the Netherlands.
Or......., uhm I forgot how they were called, but its in Germany (I've to googleit) there is also a big US parts dealer with lots of performance parts.

I have a build thread on this forum, with lot of pix, so you allready can take a look there.

I didn´t have time the last 2 months, so no progress, but in about 2 weeks, when weather is not so warm anymore, I´ll continue working on the car.
