you guys talk about geting clicks,well...i woke up, got in, put the key in and damn, nothing. battery has a full charge. no click, radio and lights still work. looked under the truck and found a nice wire hanging by itself... anyone have pics of the starter so i know where it goes. the wire most likely has to be replaced anyway. any help would be great.

as for the hanging wire...im lost, but the short black wire(1\2in long) from the selenoid to the starter motor was disconected so that may be the problem

This is a pic I drew so please bear with me. There is the one little wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter. The really large one is the one that comes from the battery.
In the pic there is a big jumper going from the terminal that the battery goes to over to the small terminal. In stock applications, that jumper isn't there and the little purple wire goes to the small terminal. You can fix it back like it was. Probably last a few months at least. A permanent fix(if you feel like messing with it is on the same site that the pic came from)
Happy holidays,
Blake

3rd wire

3rd wire

New starter did it... i thought the 3rd wire was some type of ground so i held the wire to the larger terminal on the starter(while hanging under the truck)worked like a charm...but the wire was just an old antena wire melted to the DP acting as a ground(got rid of it),so the starter runs but wount stop.only way to stop it is disconnecting the battery

someone's had to have this problem
