:dunno: hey just installed a new engine in my ty. Ive had nothing but trouble. finally got it running ok and now when i start it up it squeaks like a engine bearing thats getting no oil. at first i thought the machine shop may have messed up or my new oil pump took a crap, but my gauge was reading 60 psi at idle. it only squeaks when you first start it for about 10 seconds. i can go over and tug on the tv cable and it does it again. it will do this in reverse, manual 2nd and 1st. I'm confused. :banghead:

Converter not seated in the pump properly, before bolting to the flywheel?

That would explain the additional squeal on a TV increase... it's trying to drive the pump but can't.

If the torque converter wasn't seated properly during the install, read my post here about the consequences.

I don't think that that happened, converter spun fine before i bolted it to the flexplate and I had 1/8" pull out. i just went out to the garage and let the truck warm up and the squeak went away, will that happen if i got the converter wrong? Also, it only started doing this after about a week of trying to get the new engine to run decent.

Let's see, you just installed a new engine and it's squeaking like a dry bearing. I'd talk to your engine builder for his advice before your proceed, just in case it's not the trans!
