Something got bumped

Picked up my Ty today. Had the driver side front body mount replaced along with the driver side floor pan at a local frame & alignment shop. Noticed my A/F readings going from 14.68-14.70 back and forth the whole ride home. I had literally just resolved this issue the start of this year with a replacement sensor.

So they had to pull the carpet back and I'm thinking something happened with the ground? Either that or my brand new sensor just went bad. I'd assume the ground is the culprit.

Usually my Wbo2 doesn't move very much (like what yours is doing) while it is heating up. If this 2nd one doing this I would wonder if the heater circuit is working properly.

Re: Something got bumped

No big deal if it reads that at idle. But under idle, while driving, under WOT etc...no matter what the case is the reading just goes from 14.68 back to 14.70 and vice versa. It's the same symptoms I had when I had a bad WB02 sensor. I just have a hard time thinking the sensor went bad when I just replaced it May (roughly). I haven't even ran race gas this year.

I'm thinking they re-grounded in a bad spot or something. It makes sense because they had the whole carpet pulled back and probably had to unplug some wiring that was running under the carpet.

I'll have to look at it later tonight when I get a chance. And go back and read the search on properly grounding the WB +/-

Re: Something got bumped

Well I crawled under the truck today. Disconnected the WB02 sensor and turned the truck on..A/F is reading the exact same. 14.68 then 14.70. This with the truck not running. So I have an A/F reading with the truck not running...

I would only have to guess this is not a sensor issue. You'd think the reading would be ''AIR" or something along those lines. That or no reading at all.

Then I pulled the carpet back on the driver's side to check the + and - connections, nothing looks wrong there. There was a tiny spark when I wiggled the loose ground.

So what the hell happened? Maybe the gauge is fried?

I just noticed your post here. You mentioned "2nd one". The first WB02 Dig had installed when he originally tuned the truck back in 2008ish. That lasted until the beginning of this year. So really that's the first time I've had to replace the WB02 sensor since 2008.
