SLP Rear posi?

I got an SLP take out posi that came out of an '02 T/A that was turned into a firehawk. i read from here that these are 10x better than the gov-locks that come stock, which was my reasoning for buying it. only question i have is that he didnt have a part number and slp no longer sells them due to the f-body death, so is there any other way i can tell that its the right posi unit? id ask slp, but i doubt they would know when it comes to SyTys. probably just try and sell me a F-body 3rd member to go with it.

it wasnt an impulse buy, i got it dirt cheap and its never been installed (minus the original T/A) so i figgure i can sell it for much more than i paid if i cant use it.

I just installed on of these in my 4cyl Xtreme......thing works like a champ, and is easily 100% better than the gov lock unit that came stock in my friends 6cyl Xtreme. That thing lock and unlocks whenever it sees fit, and is not reliable at all. Ask Corbin (Sy Guy 0024 I think) about his, He replaced his gov-lock unit with one of these in his Sy I think.

ANYWAY......If you are interested in selling it I am sure someone on s-seriesforum.com would be interested in buying it....seems like there are a few people every week looking for one.

I don't know if it'll fit or not. I think the differential itself is the correct unit, the problem will be axle splines. The 7.5" / 7.625" unit can be had with either 26 (early style) or 28 spline axles (later style). My '93 Z28 has 28 spline axles. Nobody on any of the s10 sites I lurk at seems to know when the S10 rears went to 28 splines.

So does somebody know whether Sy/Tys have 26 or 28 spline axles?

And yes, the Zexel Torsen is a much better rear than that damn Gov-Loc POS. I've got the HD Zexel in my Z28 and love it, and my suburban has a Gov-Loc and I hate it. Its not a limited slip, its a limited SPIN!

I want to say that hte S-series changed in the mid 80's to the same spline count as current. Not sure which that is....however I know that the SLP take out and the stock axle shafts work perfect togethor.
