I put swapped in a Gilbert front drive shaft and modified shift linkage bracket out of my other Sy. Now the shifter isn't going into gears properly. You can put it in park, but the truck rolls and clicks as it rolls. I have to put the parking brake on to keep it from rolling. Also it barely recognizes reverse, when selecting a gear from park, it tends to skip reverse and go straight to neutral. I've tried reattaching the linkage to the bracket and it made no difference.

Any thoughts

Disconnect the cable at the trans. Manually put trans in park. (The detents are in the trans not the at the shift lever.) Move shift lever to park and reattach the cable making adjustments as necessary. Or if you want use the neutral position. It's more in the middle of the travel and might work better. You might have to "cheat" a bit on the actual lever position but not much.

You need to pry the shift linkage bracket down a bit to clear the propshaft.

I used tire iron bent down bracket maybe 1/4 inch all good.
