ok, so here they are, 10 pics for your viewing enjoyment.

i finally got it all together and working, with ALOT of measuring, and measureing, and measureing.....

i have all gears, p,r,n,od,d,2,1,

i mad sure i got park, and low 1 every time. i wasnt happy untill i did.

these friggin threaded end have proven to be a bit*h to find, and pricey, but i think im ready to start making these, on a larger scale.

the shift bracket needed another hole, (shown with the screwdriver bit pointing)
which will come pre drilled.

the only mod that was required was a 5/16 hole in the shifter stalk. it was no big deal to drill it, takes 1-2 min, and is never seen. the factory little c-clip thingy wouldnt even come close to working, so i went this route, and am VERY HAPPY with the results.

just for durability's sake i ran this shifter cable through probably 50-60 cycles, trying to get something to break, streach, or come out of aliginment, and it was perfect every time.:tup:

priceing will be 160.00 plus 8.00 flat shipping rate.

this kit will come with the following....

1. shifter cable
2. pre drilled shifter cable front bracket
3. lower shifter cable bracket.
4. 2 10/32 threaded swivels, (man these were expensive)
5. 2 pan spacers for factory style pan, (aluminum pans dont need the spacers)
6. 2 grade 8 longer pan bolts
7. 2 cotter pins
8. a 1 year warranty if installed on a sy/ty/sogt....... yes i said warranty and sy/ty in the same sentance!!!

If I had a running truck I'd order one from you. I gotta concentrate on getting it going first tho..

I wonder if this will solve my tranny problem? Trans slips into N while in OD, but works normally when in D. We can take a look at the tune session on 4-2? I'll be there between 9-10 am. See you next weekend!!

looks nice, but thats gonna be a little harder than "direct bolt in" on the shifter side. I had the same thing in the works but kinda tossed it aside when that other cheap cable was "found". You can get around using a threaded end on the shifter side.

if you can find me the special end, ill change the whole desigin, but for reasons of cable travel, it had to be lower than the existing hole.

Have you checked the fit on that with a Gilbert(oversized) propshaft?

my local hydraulics stuff dealer also makes up cables with Morse Controls parts
the display in the store is fairly complete and might also be a source for these
parts

nope, no binding, just not enough travel up that high.

imagine if i put the cable at the tip of the shifter, where the button is presed,... this end of the shifter travels alot further than the lower portions of the shifter. probably 6-7 inches more.

if this was the case, i would need a cable with approx 7-9 inches of travel,...:tdown: :tdown:
not gonna happen.

now take the cable and attach it approx. 1/2 inch up from the piviot point on the bottom, this same shifter in this spot travels much much less than the top of the shifter, total travel 1-2 inches,...... very dooable :tup:

also, ive found a source for the little swivels that you have to drill a hole in the shifter for, and im happy to announce that the required hole is now only half the size as the first pics of my shifter.

smaller =more clearance=less headaches:tup:

wendsday the smaller swivels will be here, and i might be doing a group purchase of the first 5-10 shifter cable assemblys at a lower introductory price, to get a couple of these out there, and on a couple trucks, so i can get some feedback.

also... on the clearance of the gilbert shaft,.... i dont have a truck here with a gilbert in it, but im 99% sure that it will fit, just need a truck with one to install one on.

My ****ing cable broke AGAIN what a piece of shit. Would there be any reason why i have broken 2 cables in as many months, any way i am interested in one of your cables

yup thats the bracket im using, it seems to fit all gm trannys.
