When my front driveshaft went, it bent my shift linkage. I thought I had it bent back where it was supposed to be, but it was harder than heck to shift between gears. So we put the ty up on the rack with me in it, and a friend hammered on the bracket trying to bend it around a little so i could shift normally.
We did the best we could but apparently when I shift the bracket bends. It must be weak. I can hardly put it in 1st, and the rest of the gears are off a little. Plus when I went to park the truck today, I put it in park and it started to roll back. I could hear the thing in the tranny clicking. I pushed harder into park and it finally caught. I'm using my parking brake to be sure my truck doesnt roll off.
