NHSTE - I'm the only one!
As promised, I finally did this and took a lot of pictures. This applies to any Saginaw P series pump (all GM models, pretty much). The one I did was metric, but it doesn't make much difference. I bought a generic rebuild kit (cost me about $12 shipped) with shaft seals.
Okay, so first take it apart :lol: . Pretty self explanatory, you have to compress the rear cover to remove the spring retaining clip, then the whole thing pretty much will fall apart. The impeller is held to the shaft with an external spring clip. Hammer out the shaft, and you're left with the case and a press fit sleeve. I used a 1/2" drive 14mm deep socket to drive this out with a hammer.

At that point, you're here, and ready to insert the new sleeve
Press that in (I used a washer and a socket to set it in all the way, just in my bench vise)
That done, insert the shaft ( I had to clean some scoring on mine, no big deal) and tap it into place with a hammer. ( seats until the shoulder on the splined end is flush with the case)
Next in line is the shaft seal. I just tapped it in with a hammer, would have been easier with a big socket
Next comes the lower vane and the 2 vane locating pins ( I made sure to coat each piece with fluid as it went in)
then, the actual impeller. This is a slotted wheel with 10 little sliding vanes in it (they like to fall out, be careful.) retained on the shaft with an external spring clip
Next, slide the impeller housing into place over the vane locating pins
Then, the upper vane O-Ring, followed by the upper vane
