rear end is off

While under the truck, I noticed the rubber bump stops on both sides hit the parking brake cable when suspension bottoms out. Had not noticed the rear end is positioned about an inch forward also. This things came with lowering blocks and a wedge. What's the deal with that wedge? I mean, are they used to change the rear ends geometry?. Can those wedges have caused the rear end to move forward or was it just a faulty installation to begin with? More pics to come as soon as photobucket lets me upload.

Pinion angle wedge used to get correct angle on diff. due to lowering blocks. You can google "pinion angle" for more info.

That's what I though. Thanks for clearing it up. I don't care too much for lowered vehicles. Stock height is just fine. Learned my lesson with a 2dr 1999 Tahoe about lowering suspensions.

Second pic shows lowering block off center.
Considering returning to stock height. Please post pics of stock set up. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing to avoid the offset, a person should put the wedges on top of the block?
That'll lessen that huge offset caused by the tall block being at such a tilt like that. That just doesn't look structurally safe.

Mine was lowered when I bought it and had a killer look to it (see my avatar).
But it just wasn't my thing.

I raised it back up to stock, installed the proper pinion wedges (originals were missing on mine), installed stock wheels/tire size and couldn't be happier. :tup:

I agree. Looks like its moving forward.
The more I dig into this truck, the more crappy mechaniquing no-nos I run into.

Some pics and/or info about stock parts would help bunches.

Wow. I'd be scared to drive it lol. I thought it was obvious that the wedge NEVER goes on bottom. How could anyone in their right mind think that putting the wedge on bottom and a 2-3" block on top, leaning the way it does, is safe?
