1. How much gear oil goes in the rear diff?
2. What weight and type of oil?

1. I just re-filled mine tonight, got about 1.75 qts in the rear diff.
2. I use 75w-90, Royal Purple :tup:
3. Drive shaft, or Drive axle? Drive shaft should have VERY little play, especially on the U-joints as that can cause a nasty vibration. Drive axle should also have very little, wouldnt want it to move more than 1/16" in any direction.

I need to put a new seal on my rear diff, where the drive shaft comes into the diff. what kinda seal is in there? i'm pretty sure thats what the problem is, that the seal has broke..

Its an oil seal, similar to the axle seals. NAPA should stock them :tup:

well i got it all in. looking good and all that jazz. no more leaks "yet" :rotf:
