If your ty was missing the vaccum ball can this create knock or increase it?

no not if the lines are plugged that run into it, i am pretty sure.

its on the line that conrols your egr and hvac controls.

its down stream from the egr, which has its own check valve.

If it caused a loss of vaccum to your egr, it wouldnt open, which shouldnt add to knock, especially if you have a lower tstat.
