Question for the Syclone Masters...

My SY is bone stock. I'm getting a Check Engine Light when I first start my truck. Meanwhile, the stock Vacuum/Turbo gauge stays pegged at zero. The truck drives sluggish, like an old carburated car without a choke, while in this condition. After a few minutes the light goes out and the gauge returns to normal? This usually happens on cold and or damp mornings. My questions are: Has anyone ever had this cold start problems? What could be causing this? MAP sensor? Intake Manifold Vacuum lines? What sensors should I be looking at as the cause? Help me out here guys...It's driving me crazy!! Thanks.

1fstsix,

Thanks! Sounds like a good idea to replace the Vacuum lines. Any idea what size the vacuum lines are? What lengths I'll need of each size? Thanks again...

i have the same problem with my turbo gauge. ive checked all the vaccuum lines, theyre intact, and connected, but my gauge stays at 0. then other times i drive and the gauge functions properly... my oil and volt gauge are also doin the loop d'loop... could it just be a bad connection with the gauge cluster? i never had this problem till i put the white face gauges on...

I'm no Syclone Master, but it does sound like a problem related to the map sensor. If its not the vaccum lines, then mabey the electrical connection at the map sensor. The stock boost guage works from the map signal. Try checking the trouble codes. I'll bet its something to do with the map sensor, probably vaccum line related.

I think I missed the cut-off for this Group
Buy. I'll definitely get on the next one if I don't replace the vacuum line before then.

DefiledSy#1931,

My problem is only the Boost Gauge when the check engine light comes on. Only happens when it cold out? I'm going to pull the trouble codes and see what's what

joeelutz,

Thanks for the help man...I'll start with the Trouble codes, Map sensor connector and vacuum lines.

Have you tried pulling the code while the Check Engine light is still on? I think it'll store it even after it goes out, but I don't have any firsthand experience...
