Q: primary killer

so what is the primary killer of the stock 700R? I'm looking to into autocrossing my ty, and the trans is something im gonna have to reinforce. I was hopeing that adding a powered cooler would help alot, but i know that sprags are weak, and well, everything else is for the most part too...the motor is a stock rebuild (spec wise...all forged and H beamed) with a tune that I did @ 18psi.

Boost launching creates heat in the transmission. Heat degrades/destroys the internal transmission components.

Re: Q: primary killer

alright, so running 1 or even 2 trans coolers may help then, maybe even using a larger pan. I was hopeing something along these line would actually help

You'll need a guage to make sure - wanna buy mine? Autometer Phantom - never been installed, brand new.

Trans cooler and a deep pan will prolong the life for sure.

Loose nut behind wheel.

Drive it like grandma....I know that's no fun.

Heat is a big one. I agree with those above.
