Hi all,

I'm going to put the front propshaft back tomorow and just wanted to get all the tips/advice I need before I start. I already know that I have to change the Tcase fluid and also I'll be adding fresh diff fluid.

Anything else I need to know???

Thanx!

If you haven't made the switch to "regular" bolts, now would be a good time to. The front ones are M10-1.50X25mm and the rears are M12-1.75X25mm. Make sure you get grade 10.9 which is the equivalent to grade 8 in S.A.E. These bolts can not be bought at the local hardware store. You will have to go to a machine shop to get them or an industrial fastner supply house. However, if you like the torx bolts I guess none of this matters  . Be sure to use some Loctite 242 (the blue stuff) on the bolts to help keep them in place.

Lastly, be sure to use ATF in your transfer case when you change the fluid. It takes 3 pints or 1 and a half quarts. HTH's

Just in case you want to know. I believe they are torqued to 52ft/lbs. I think that's right, but I probably got it wrong, being it a bit late and after a few. :drinking: Get a loop from Phil, wish I did... just in case.
