well i looked through 20 pages and didnt find what im looking for

i need to know what direction the propshaft for my 4wd sonoma goes

i marked with a screwdriver but i guess the rust rubbed off

i currently have it installed with the short end on the TC

i really dont see how it would matter anyways

stock 235/75/15 (or is it 14) tires and no lift

Re: propshaft direction (sonoma)

If I remember correctly, the slip yoke is closest to the front diff.

Re: propshaft direction (sonoma)

it does not have a slip, just a sliding spline

He's talking about the sliding spline. Sometimes it's called a slip yoke or slip spline.

Stab it and steer it
Re: propshaft direction (sonoma)

Generally speaking the slip or spline end goes on the case end, not the differential end, regardless if it's front or rear. Although I don't know what it would hurt to have it the other way. Our rear slip yoke goes into the case itself which is common on small vehicles. What IS important is that the yokes on each end of the shaft are lined up with each other.

Re: propshaft direction (sonoma)

yeah there is a odd spline that keeps both on the same angle (both horiz or both vert)
