got a spankin chromed 140 amp powermaster alternator for xmas, anyone have any usefull tips on istallation?

Yeah, make sure it has provisions for ALL the bolts. I've got the 180 Amp Powermaster but the housing has no threaded hole on the backside for bolt which secures the unit to a steel bracket in front of valve cover. Like a dumbass I ran it for just over a year and then I notice the friggin' boss(inboard side toward center of truck) of the aluminum alternator/Power Steering pump bracket was cracked. Had I known about the other guys on the net who make/sell them for less than half the price of a Powermaster, I wouldn't have bought the POS in the first place!!!!! Dealing with them is like dealing with yourself 'cuz ya may as well just talk to yourself!!!!!!!

Turns out mine was the same way, HOWEVER, this is remedied by losening the bolts between the two halves of the housing, removing the nut for the front pully, and turning the two halves, so that the bolt hole that is on the back lines up with the bracket that is on the truck.
weirder thing is that its about 5mm too short, so 3 washers are needed for a tight install.
Its in, all bolts tightened down, and pumping out juice nicely.
