I think Mike Lee at RPM is using one in the Ghetto Sled. Not 100% sure though.

I know of a truck about to get one with a transbrake even while maintaining AWD.

The owner is on here maybe he will chime in.

I think Mike's is a turbo350 if I remember right. That was over a year ago though.

We build and use PG's all the time in our race car stuff for ourselves and customers. It's a very reliable trans, and if built right can take alot of power. As well, you can buy brand new SFI aftermarket cases to make them even better.

no doubt a power glide built properly could take the punishment, not exactly the most expensive thing out there either :tup:

my sister-in-law's pops has a 8 second vega with one, that's all the field test i'd ever need to see

would be a good test to see if someone could finally break a gilbert propshaft :rotf:

I figure a PG is a good "no worries" automatic tranny. If it's done right, you'd get to see how well the rest of your build holds up without ever thinking about the transmission again... or at least for 50K mi.

Powerglides are used exclusivily anymore for drag racing. 2 gears, light, efficient and well developed in the aftermarket. In fact most drag cars I would say have very little powerglide left in them, and all race parts.

The disadvantage is no OD. For street may be not so good.

Transbrake and syty would be a wild ride for sure. Not sure what transfer case will do when it hits though.

If someone wanted a transbrake, Rossler has one for the E trannies now. 80e included.

Not sure on price though.

Just imagine the launch you would get by switching from a 3.06 to 1 first gear to a 1.76 to 1.Powerglides are used alot in racing but mostly in light cars and dragsters.Dosent seem like a very good idea in a 3800 lb. truck.
