Oil return line gasket

According to GM, the gasket at the oil pan is no longer available. Anyone know of a suitable replacement, or size & composition of the original so I can make one. Is this gasket replacable without removing the pan? Thanks, Cornell in Phx.

Cornell-
I might try a different dealership first. I only say this because I just ordered and received the small gasket between the oil return line and the turbo. I don't know why they would have that one and not the other. The other thing, is there a gasket down there? I thought it was a fitting that was tapped into the block or pan. I'm not certain though, just asking. For what it's worth...take a look at this link, http://www.syty.org/old/pics/diagrams/turbooil-small.gif

as you can see there are any number of clamps/hoses/moveable parts down there that could be leaking.

I don't know what your dealer is smoking, but http://www.gmpartsdirect.com has your part. The seal, item 12, is part #15637669. Are you positive the seal is leaking? Item 7 should be tossed as soon as possible. It's a bad excuse for a clamp. Might want to change item 9 while you're at it. The rubber hose, item 8, runs really close to the retainer clips on the tranny hardlines. The hose can easily be cut.

Good luck.

I changed over to -AN fittings about a year ago, eliminating #'s 10,9,8,7,&5. It's a very slight leak but I'de like to address it before it gets any worse. Part #15637669 is what I had them look up; will try another dealership. Thanks for the ideas... Cornell

Any turbo builder ought to be able to get you the correct Mitsu gasket, or you could use copper RTV. There's also a Garrett/AiResearch gasket that will work...T3 or T4 (I think). The bolt pattern is the same, but the center hole is smaller than the Mitsu...just open up the center hole and it works fine. I think I've got a spare...gimme your address and I'll mail it to you.

oops...my bad. I've got a #4 gasket in the diagram above...can't help you with the #12.
