Pretty sure it's the diff. Just cruising it was fine ofcourse. But anytime I'd squeeze the throttle it would pop/crack. So the guy who works on all our trannies for years said to bring it by his work. Brought it by and took him for a ride then we put it in the air. He thought it could be the propshaft, cv shafts, or torsion mounts...
So tonight after we replaced the cv shafts and torsion mounts (just to rule those out before pulling the propshaft) we took it for a spin and the noise is still there. So while pulling in the neighborhood I torqued up the tranny (just to see if we could pinpoint the location) of the noise since it is extremely hard to do so and without the tires moving an inch the noise would continue. It's like an unhealthy cracking/popping coming from below.
If I don't get agressive or squeeze the throttle it's fine. Matter of fact it drives great! But it's only under the 1/2 to full throttle that it's telling me no-no. I can't drive this thing without getting on it!!!
I'm gonna bring it back over to the shop tommorow and maybe we'll get it pulled apart. I'll keep you guys posted and ofcourse any feedback helps.

Take out the propshaft and inspect it. I had the same issue with my first Ty. I took it to a shop and they couldn't figure it out. I ended up pulling the propshaft and it was siezed up something awful.

propshaft here too. I have seen a bravada make the same noise , it was the chain in the TC, it had streched and was jummping the teeth but the noies would transfer the the front through the shaft to the front

There is no way to drain the front diff without splitting the case. You will have to pump the oil out of it.

GM calls for pumping the fluid out of the front diff. drain, pump do what you gotta do to get a sample of fluid out of it. I also put a drain hole in mine when I took it out. the newer s-series have a drain plug in them factory. too bad they didnt think about it 10yrs earlier.

Thanks for all your feedback guys.Very cool.
Tonight after work I brought it over to the shop to listen and try and pinpoint the location of the noise. So I pulled it up on the drive-on style hoist and torqued it up a couple times (just enough to get the front end to raise-up a tad) while my Dad was underneath monitoring everything. After about the third time he says "Yep it's comin from the transfer case." So now we're trying to figure out exactly what we're gonna do. I'm wondering if a rebulid kit is available or something of that nature. But I guess we really won't know until we pull it apart.

I think at this point I'm looking into finding xcase parts off the AWD Astro Vans/Bravadas. If I'm gonna tear this thing apart I might as well do it right the first time.
Although $200 dollars would be very reasonable and I know your just looking out for me, I think I'd be very lucky if it were only the chain and bearings that are damaged/stressed. (If my mileage was considerably lower I could see that being a factor.) But now I'm under the assumption that I might need to just go ahead and replace the whole xcase itself. I mean why not? 128k miles is a lot daily driving/track time abusing for these trucks. But since I haven't pulled it apart yet I could be wrong. Maybe these trucks are stronger than I thought. Heck my xcase goes before the stock motor???

there is really nothing to them. if it came down to it you can probably get away with just a chain. the only way i would consider replacing the whole thing is if somthing happend to the case.

Sure I might be able to get away with just putting in a chain, but why go through all that trouble and risk breaking it again? There are more parts inside the xcase than just a chain and bearings. It's not that simple. I'm sure the viscus clutch is on it's last leg if not shot already.
