I am looking into buying a 1992 Typhoon, when testing it out on wet pavement I got sideways and it didn't feel like the front was grabbing at all. Happened 2 or 3 times, the vehicl has 84,000 miles. Is there a problem with the diff.
Thanks in advance

Prolly with the CENTER DIFF (aka transfer case)
If its shot its possible that could occur.

However if you are TRULY without AWD you oughta be able to break it lose on drive pavement too (see signature pic)... In the RAIN my STOCK Ty will swing the rear end out going around a corner if I STAND on the throttle... Per the owners manual the center differential WILL distribute 65% rear and 35% to the front for torque distribution..

Obviously without PERSONALLY driving the vehicle myself its hard to tell if its NORMAL or not.. But I can tell you that my stock truck will break the loose (all four actually) in the rain... It feels similar to only a RWD car..

ooops forgot to mention.. the signature pic is with my front shaft completely removed from the truck (was going to the dyno).. Yes this was a power brake but its darn near impossible to keep from laying strips of rubber everywhere if you drive the truck like it was intended ONLY with RWD.
