Need to remove propshaft

Need your help guys. I need to remove the propshaft to see if it's the culprit causing the undercarriage noise. Someone previously posted a link to a site which had steps and photos on the propshaft removal. If anyone has it, can you reply with it...

Btw, I know traction becomes a big issue driving without the shaft, but what kind of mechanical issues can you expect with regards to the tranny, transfercase or front diff if you drive without it for a short period of time?

very short period should be ok. extended driving without a propshaft causes issues with the viscous coupling in the transfer case which is bad. always use your parking brake when the propshaft is out or else the truck will roll when on an incline when you are in park.

Now take off your front driveshaft. I use a 3/8" 12 point closed end wrench on the front and a 7/16" close end 12point on the rear. The way my propshaft is made, torx type socket that is made for the bolts won't clear the double cardan in the rear and catch at an angle. Something here that helps: take out the cotter pin and slip the shift cable off of the manual lever on the tranny. Hang the cable back out of your way. Now you can shift it between park and neutral while you are working on the prop without having to get out from under the truck.
