i just joined here. i am a gm tech from vegas but not too many people at the dealership know a whole lot it seems too out of date in model years to access info etc...
i have a 92 typhoon i bought it in sept. in so cal. it was represented to have a larger turbo, BOV relocated batt, larger downpipe, and aftermkt intercooler (damaged, plan on replacement soon) I drove it around for a week did a tune up didnt help checked comp found 2 cyls reading 35-50psi so i pulled the motor and rebuilt it i was suprised by the performance of it i took down a few ss camaros and a new vette with the old motor.
well heres the bad part. the new motor ran fine, but within 50 miles i had 2 injectors go down burned holes in the pistons etc it was a very bad day. if any of you know of how tight of a fit these are you almost have to hand assemble everything in the eng bay. two weeks later i was involved in a head on crash and have been out of work since. my newest motor now includes wiseco forged pistons bead blasted intake, brackets, polished chargecooler, upper plenum etc it looks real nice but dont want to do a third motor i am replacing all injectors fuel pump, would like to add 7th injector and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator like i said earlier not too many people in vegas know too much about these bad boys, so any help would be greatly appreciated you can check out my personal page i have pics online of the ty and other stuff go to hotmail communities go to "speed kills" and click it

Thanks again

no you wont have a bog problem becasue the chip has been correctly matched to the injectors. and yes you must replace the fuel pump and regulator

GM TURBO

Sell Out
I don't run an Ultimate with the 50# injectors - however I have heard lots of good things about drivability. Brian Green has done a lot of tuning on this chip and there are some fast trucks using it.

As far as the fuel pump - Ron Gregory is the best to deal with http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com Get the high-pressure 255L/hour pump - It has become general concesus this is the pump to use. Ron's prices are better than anywhere else - I checked. $110 - I don't remember what shipping was.

As far as the AFPR - I would stat away from Charred Air Systems. Seems that Tony is having a hard time meeting deadlines. I ordered mine from Mike @ http://www.arautosports.com - 110 bucks with shipping - full billet - nice regulator.

Both of these guys are SyTy owners as well. Kinda nice to keep the money in the family.

Plays well with others
Guy Lavy is selling some fuel pumps, Walbro 255's or APE (don't remember their website), someone help me here. http://syty.org/ads/

Ultimate chip http://arautosports.com

AFPR Poston, ACCUFAB brand, billet...

oh hell yeah you guys rock! just one other thing where can i aquire these injectors#50? do they come as part of a kit with the ultimate chip i checked out those sites and didnt see them so if you could send me a link or whatever would be greatly appreciated also.

Did you guys see the pics of it yet ill get them up in here soon, just too busy going to doctors etc. A bit more about it: i picked it up for 10.5K it has an aftermarket rear sway bar, it has a 4 wheel baer braking system with 13 or 14 inch front rotors, slotted rears, it sits on a set of set of 18" MHT 10 spoke chrome alloys with nitto nt555 rubbers i am interested in swapping out that set for some 17's but not sure if theyll fit over the front rotors but not worried about that right now i thought about finding a set of stocks but i heard that they were a weak cast from gm and they discontinued production as a result. anyways thanks a mill.

50lb injectors you can get from Precision Turbo & Engine http://www.precisionte.com/
As far as the Baer brakes.. If that's what you have.. The rears are 12"... only system they make.. Front rotors are either 12" sport system or 13" track system.. 12" system will work with the stock 16" rims.. caliper clears with not much extra room.. works fine though ... haven't had a problem on my truck... Track system will require a 17" rim for sure.. go to http://www.baer.com/template_lists/gm_mid_size.shtm and download their wheel fitment guide...

And yes.. I wouldn't recommend spending the extra cash on a stock set of rims if longevity/durability of the wheels is what you seek.. just so you know for future refference... stock offsets for are wheels our as follows.

front: 41mm
rear: 13mm

here are some sites with good all around info you should check out:

And since you sound as if you'll need some body work... might be interested in this thread as well:

Al dustin is also offering a brake system upgrade for these trucks using wilwood components. Seems as if this stuff is much lighter than the bears but performance is equal.

Hey Rob can I ask you a few questions about Vegas, I just bought a home in Sumerline, and plan to move out there within the year.

How is LVMS to race at?
Do you know the elevation?

Is there a street racing seen?

Is there a cruise spot?

TIA
